Hi 👋🏻

I am a VC investor specializing in open source, AI, and infrastructure software. Previously, I worked as a General Partner at Runa Capital, a global VC firm with $600M+ AUM, and have over a decade of experience working with early-stage startups.

Open source has been a long-standing passion of mine. In addition to investing, I am building the Open Source Endowment, ideated and led the quarterly index of fastest-growing open-source startups (2020-2025), published open source benchmarks, and other OSS research.

I began programming at 13 out of curiosity to create games, and later studied math, physics, and computer science at university. Ever since, I've continued to explore new technologies hands-on, and still enjoy coding.

I live in London and often spend time in the SF Bay Area.

Investments

Nowadays I partner with technical founders as an angel investor and bring uncorrelated network, relevant funders, data-driven insights and OSS expertise to the table.

Before that, I worked at Runa Capital, which has backed more than 100 B2B software and deep tech startups since 2010, including n8n, Mambu, Nginx, MariaDB, and Pasqal. Some of my seed investments done personally or as a partner at Runa:

  • Mastra: Leading open source TypeScript AI agent framework (details)
  • White Circle: AI guardrails and red-teaming platform for businesses
  • Twenty: Leading open source CRM platform (details)
  • Higgsfield: AI video and image generator ($100M+ ARR)
  • Keep [acquired by Elastic]: Open source AIOps & alert management (details)
  • Sidekick [acquired by Perplexity]: Work-focused browser based on Chromium.

During my tenure at Runa, I also originated and led the development of its internal data platform. Now I actively apply AI & data-driven approach to angel investing.

If you're a founder thinking about leveraging open source or raising a seed round, let's connect! Email me to meet over coffee in London/SF or online.

Philanthropy

Charity is an important part of my life philosophy — over the years, I have ideated and co-built several online communities, endowments, and nonprofit projects.

In 2025, together with many other tech founders, VCs and OSS creators, I founded the Open Source Endowment — the first-ever endowment fund exclusively dedicated to OSS and enabling a new sustainable funding source for open source maintainers.

This is a unique community-led nonprofit that leverages similarities between OSS and universities, a data-driven approach to donations, and many other ideas. For now, it accepts founding donors among individuals who are willing to support this cause.
